Our Location Description

The small village of Tayinloan is situated in The Kintyre Peninsula on the west coast of Scotland.  The Kintyre Peninsula is situated on the gulf stream therefore is lucky to have one of the best climates in Scotland surprising visitors from around the globe who come for other activities such as sailing, golf and cycling.

InXhale Yoga Scotland retreat will be held at a large country house with 5 acres of gardens enjoying views to across to the Isles of Gigha, Islay and Jura   There are lots of lovely spots to sit both inside and outside the house to enable relaxation and self-reflection

The yoga Shala is well equipped and heated for the more relaxing types of yoga, we also have patio doors to let the wonderful fresh Scottish air flow through   The Yoga shala is situated adjacent to the house with views of the countryside to fill your heart with gladness and gratitude.

There are lots of wonderful walks where you can chill under a tree, sit on a swing and watch the local wild life going about their daily business We are also near a fabulous beaches for swimming, bobbing, paddling, picnicking and meditation


7:30 AM – Morning yoga session including Pranayama and Meditation.
– Start the day with a yoga session to energise the body, pranayama and meditation to awaken the body and connect to the senses.
9:00 AM – Healthy Breakfast.
– A delicious and healthy meal with fresh fruit, whole grains, yogurt, juice, tea & coffee.
10:30 AM – Workshop or lecture.
– Participate in a workshop in mindfulness, Iyurveda or Yogic Philosophy.
11:30 AM – Free time.
– Time to relax, take a walk-in nature, journal or take advantage of the retreat facilities for some me time. (relax in the garden or in one of the secluded spaces inside the house).
12:30 PM – Light lunch.
– A light healthy meal of soup, healthy wraps and sandwiches.
2:00 PM – Trip to Beach/Boat trip to Gigha.
– Take a trip to the wonderful Westport Beach with miles of white sand where you can walk or have a dip in the sea.
– Take the ferry to the Isle of Gigha where we visit the Botanical Gardens and see the wonders of the tropical plants from around the world, they are able to grow because of the micro climate and the Gulf Stream.
6:00 PM – Yin Yoga/Restorative Yoga.
– A gentle, restorative yoga focusing on deep stretches and relaxation.
7:30 PM – Dinner.
– A wholesome, nutritious and tasty meal that will nourish and rejuvenate.
9:00 PM – Evening Meditation.
– Experience wonderful meditation around the firepit under the stars or candle gazing in
one of the cosy spaces inside the house.

10:00 PM– Personal time, reflective journaling

2 Daily yoga classes

Yoga Retreat in Scotland Description 

  • We will begin our retreat with a welcome refreshment and candle gazing meditation ceremony around the fire pit where we will introduce each other and make intentions for the days ahead focusing on what we wish to achieve in the next few days.
  • After a home cooked, scrumptious vegetarian dinner we will then retire for the evening to our beautiful accommodation with modern up to date facilities
  • We will begin our beginner’s yoga practice at 8am followed by vegetarian breakfast packed with goodness we then have free time to explore the grounds or just chill out in one of the amazing spaces. Afternoon we will be taking our picnic lunch to the spectacular Westport beach where we swim, walk and chill.
  • Back at the yoga Shala we will be practicing Yin Yoga getting deeper into our stretches for more goodness and wellbeing followed by our evening meditation. Another wonderful vegetarian dinner will follow.
  • Our next yoga practice will be 8am followed by pranayama (breath work) and cleansing technique working on our chakras Another delectable breakfast awaits then more free time.
  • After lunch we have option of a boat trip across to the Isle of Gigha where we can visit the boathouse, a lovely restaurant specialising in traditional Scottish cuisine.

When you arrive in Tayinloan you will be blown away by the fabulous location. As the days go by you will notice more of the beauty around including the amount of daylight we get in the area in summer time up to 10pm when we can see the stars brighter that ever as there is little or no pollution to block the incredible sights in the sky at night.

This retreat is about resetting and re-energising, getting “me time” to enable relaxation to discover how far you would like to take yoga as part of your life . Our retreat is country house with 5 acres of gardens with views to Isles of Gigha, Islay and Jura. There are lots of lovely cosy places to sit both inside and outside the house to enable relaxation and alone time.  The house has a lovely homely atmosphere where you will be treated to unique Scottish hospitality, eating a variety of locally sourced products and made to feel like one of the family

Your accommodation is designed to provide a peaceful sanctuary for relaxation and reflection ensuring and restful night’s sleep amidst the tranquil countryside   You will have all the modern facilities you would expect for you comfort and ease including high speed internet should you need to use it

The smaller group size will ensure you will receive personal attention, guidance and support where and when you need it plus the opportunity to forge new friendships with people from all walks of life in an intimate setting
